What is a holistic facial?

My holistic facials differ from treatments you might find in standard spas or salons which tend to be product or routine-centric. At my studio, I aim to boost not only the health and vitality of your skin but also your mind and body. In my latest post, I discuss the features of my holistic treatments and everything you can expect during your next appointment:

Features of a holistic facial

1. Consultation

Before each facial with a new client, I always ensure to go through an in-depth consultation in a safe and grounding space. Holistic facials focus heavily on an individual's personal needs and lifestyle, so this is a key element of all of my treatments. During the consultation, I may ask questions regarding your diet, exercise, stress, skin history etc. This allows us to create a picture of other factors that may be affecting your skin, to find links to the cause rather than just addressing symptoms.

2.  Tailored

After our consultation, I use the information to plan out your bespoke facial that will be the most beneficial to your skin and well-being. Depending on your needs and aims for the facial, I will select a range of products and techniques tailored to you and target specific areas or concerns. All the products in my studio are cruelty-free and picked to be kindest to your skin and the planet. Unlike standard facials, my treatments don’t follow a strict “routine” or set of products. Your personal skin needs guide the process entirely.

3. Relaxation

Not all of my clients come to my studio with specific skin concerns, some just want to take some time out to relax and relieve tension. All of my facials involve a mixture of bespoke massage techniques to give your skin some love and promote rest and relaxation for your mind and soul. My aim is always to create an environment in the studio where you can completely let go of daily stress and tap into some mental restoration.

4. Aftercare

Part of what makes my holistic facial treatments so unique is the dedicated time I make for aftercare. I am always happy to send over recommendations that I feel could help you find balance, from products to lifestyle tips that benefit your well-being as a whole. I also have the ability to put my clients in touch with other professionals to help with specific concerns, for example, nutritionists that could help with further diet advice.

When it comes to skincare and wellbeing, there is no one size fits all, which is why I love a holistic approach. Offering these services allows me to get to know my clients on a deeper level and also makes the treatment about more than just improving your skin, but your health as a whole.
